Project Background
The Costelloe RWSS project included the design, supply, installation and maintenance of equipment to to monitor Water Quality, Flow and Rainfall at inlet and outlet locations of Glenicmurrin Lake, Co Galway.
The proposed works for the project were located in a Special Area of Conservation (SAC). This imposed certain restrictions on materials and equipment that could be used. Capital Water Systems Ltd were able to fully comply with all conditions.
Project Requirements & Tasks
To specify remote monitoring equipment to meet requirements for the contract
Liaise with client before the installation to ensure all interested parties are satisfied with the installation station and the methods employed to install the station
Build the monitoring station at outlet from Glenicmurrin Lake taking into account the SAC status of the area
Install all equipment on site and setup & test telemetry
Undertake Hydrometric Gauging at Level location using ADCP “Streampro” Current Profiler
Take various level readings at the inlet to Glenicmurrin Lake
Maintain regular contact with the client on the status of the project
Regular maintenance and calibration of equipment
Liaise with client
Office support as required

- Information on water quality at the outlet of Glenicmurrin Lake for use in a future tender process
- Remote access to raw water data
